Temple Isaiah’s mission statement describes us as a caring community where the membership gathers to engage in acts of Tikkun Olam. To fullfill this mission, Temple Isaiah established the Tikkun Olam Fund in May 1997. This fund offers financial support to community-based organizations that provide assistance to the needy and disadvantaged. In May 2003 (the fourth year of grants), the Tikkun Olam committee was proud to announce a total of $8000 was awarded to the following organizations:
Okizu Foundation
A camp for children with cancer. Funds covered camperships for four students.
Center for the Educationof Infant Deaf (CEID)
CEID received funds for video equipment that badly needed replacing.
Hospice and Palliative Care of Contra Costra
Their Comfort For Kids Program received funds for in-home treatment for terminally ill children.
Children’s Book Project
Their Read Aloud Program received funds to purchase new books for shelters, schools, and agencies.
Bay Area Crisis Nursery

The Tikkun Olam Fund has funded 11 grants to various ogranizations during the past four years and your contributions will allow us to help many more. Consider making a donation to this fund in honor of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, a yahrzeit, thank-you, or other special occasion. Contact the Temple Office.
