Recyling at Temple Isaiah
In the spring of 2004, Temple Isaiah began to phase in some new recycling and other environmental programs. Part of the recycling program includes recycling of (rinsed) cans and bottles throughout the facility and classrooms, in addition to our current paper recycling. Look for new bins and postings. These changes are some of the initial steps in making Temple Isaiah a “green” congregation.
In addition, for those congregants looking for new ways of being environmentally friendly at home or in your offices, please visit the Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority website at http://www.wastediversion.org. There, you’ll find a wealth of information on material re-use, recycling, garden composting, and a variety of other important activities to adopt in helping keep trash out of the landfill and being more environmentally responsible. If members have any other environmentally conscious ideas or programs to share, or would like to get more involved via the Social Action Environment subcommittee, please contact Sandy Anderson or Harmon Burston (contact information is available from the Temple office).
