Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Simcha
But Were Afraid To Ask
What is Simcha?
Simcha is the Fifth and Sixth Grade youth group at Temple Isaiah. Our programs seek to provide members with a Jewish peer group and positive, Temple-based experiences. Events promote relationships that will hopefully extend outside of Simcha and into the future in the Anachnu (7th and 8th Grades) and LAFTY (High School) Youth Groups. Please read this information carefully and call us if you have any questions. We’re going to have a great year and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you!
Membership
All members of Temple Isaiah who are in fifth or sixth grade are automatically members of Simcha.
Medical Information And Liability Release Forms
Simcha does not require a separate Medical Information and Liability Release Form for each event. However, we do require a form separate from the Religious School and Camp Medical/Liability forms for legal reasons. We have included a blank form in this mailing. Please complete it and return it even if you are not attending the kickoff event so we will have it on file for future events. For most events, receipt of your check made out to “Temple Isaiah- Simcha” with forms in this packet, it will be your responsibility to contact the Youth Department office at (925) 284-9191 and request a form in advance of the event you wish to attend. No one will be allowed to participate in any Simcha event without having completed and returned a Medical Information and Liability Release Form to us.
Simcha Code Of Conduct
In order to clarify Simcha rules and regulations for 2005-2006, we have included a copy of the Simcha Code of Conduct in this packet. Please complete it and return it to us with your Medical Information and Release Form. If you do not complete and return the Code of Conduct form in this packet, it will be your responsibility to contact the Youth Department office at (925) 284-9191 and request a form in advance of the event you wish to attend. No one will be allowed to participate in any Simcha event without having completed and returned a Code of Conduct to us.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
Any written or phone cancellation received by the Youth Director before the registration deadline for an event shall entitle the participant to a 100% refund. Any such cancellation received after the deadline, but more than 24 hours before the beginning of the event, shall entitle the participant to a 50% credit towards a future event. For any cancellation received less than 24 hours before an event, the participant shall forfeit all fees. Any event for which there is an exception to this policy shall have such exception indicated on the original event flyer. All exceptions to this policy are at the discretion of the Youth Director.
