Our Mission

Temple Isaiah’s mission is to embody, enhance and perpetuate our Jewish tradition by providing a wlecoming spiritual home where the membership gathers to worship God, study Torah, engage in acts of Tikun Olam, participate in Jewish rituals and life cycle events, and experience the joy of being a part of a caring community.

About Us

As the oldest synagogue in Contra Costa County, Temple Isaiah serves a large geographic area and a wide variety of people and needs. Some of our members come from traditional backgrounds, others are just beginning their process of discovering Judaism- - the rest of us fit somewhere in between. We seek to embrace as a community all those who want to share in a spiritual and educational journey leading to a fuller Jewish home and communal life. Our study programs reach grandparents, parents and children, studying together or in separate contexts; our worship experience leads to an appreciation of individual and communal prayer. We want to be there for one another at times of need and celebration. Together we want to serve the needs of the larger community. With roots in a rich past and history, we grow with the challenges of our time to flourish into a promising future.
