Women’s Retreat
An Isaiah Tradition Renewed Every Year
Once a year women from our community from all generations experience Shabbat as the “taste of heaven” our ancestors described. From late afternoon on Friday to sundown on Shabbat evening we sample all the delicious flavors of the heavenly life: a quiet retreat from phones, computers and cars, song and prayer with old friends and new, savory meals cooked and served to us (no clean-up either!), walking and hiking and relaxing in a beautiful setting, the rhythms of Shabbat celebration, rituals, inspiring study and rest. Ahhhhhh…... We spend the night at the R.L. White Retreat Center, a beautiful mansion at the foot of Mt. Tamalpais, just a mile or so from downtown Mill Valley in Marin County. Year after year we find new ways to relish our hours together, focused on a different Jewish theme and sharing the Torah of our own lives and stories with each other.
Our next retreat is scheduled for Friday, April 16 through Saturday, April 17, 2010.
