From December 19th through January 2nd, Temple Isaiah will host Winter Nights, a program that provides food, shelter and activities for homeless families. Winter Nights is a program of the Contra Costa Interfaith Council.
Volunteering for Winter Nights is an opportunity to put Jewish values - including hospitality, care for those in need and gimilut chasadim—acts of loving kindness—into action. It is a wonderful way to connect with family and friends and meet new people while serving families in need.
What can you do to help? Make and serve breakfast or dinner. Wash dishes. Shop for supplies. Set up and take down the shelter. Vacuum and tidy up each night. Help with an evening activity. Shop for Christmas gifts for the guests and their children. Accompany guests on a weekend outings for our Winter Nights. And much, much more….
VOLUNTEER NOW!
Volunteer orientation will be held December 4, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
