Family Retreat 2013

What is the Family Retreat?
Join Temple Isaiah families with children in K-6th grade this spring for our sixth annual Family Retreat at the Union of Reform Judaism’s Camp Newman.  Located in the picturesque hills of Santa Rosa, Camp Newman provides an ideal setting for relaxation, prayer, Jewish learning and fun.

On this weekend we’ll leave our distractions at home and focus on community, family and friends.  Throughout the weekend we will engage in both intergenerational and age-level programs. As we learn, play games and interact with one another, we will learn about a variety of Jewish traditions, explore our Jewish values, and reinvigorate our Jewish souls.

Who can participate?
We invite all Temple Isaiah families with children in Kindergarten through 6th grade to join us.  These families are welcome to bring their older and younger children as well. For families bringing children younger than Kindergarten please contact Rabbi Miller before signing up. We want to make sure that we can provide the appropriate accommodations.  We will also have a special leadership program for 6th-8th graders.  During the weekend these tweens/teens will have some of their own programming and at times will serve as junior counselors.  High School students can be counselors.

Where will we sleep?
Adults with young children (2nd grade and below) will stay with their children in private cabins with their own bathrooms.  Children in 3rd grade and above will stay in cabins with adult and teen staff.  Adults who do not have children lodging with them will stay in semi-private cabins with shared bathrooms. We’ll provide the beds; BYOB (bring your own bedding).

What will this wonderful weekend cost?
Adults: $180
Preschool-8th Graders: $100
Children Ages 2 & Under, not yet in preschool: Free of Charge
Scholarships are available.  Please contact Rabbi Alissa Miller for more information.

9th-12th Graders: If you are interested in being a counselor for the retreat, please indicate it on the registration form. An honorarium will be given for your volunteer work.
