In addition to considering the value of traditional rituals, we will explore how creating minhagim – customs surrounding rituals – can personalize these acts and invest them with special meaning for each family.
God, Spirituality, Prayer, and Parenting with Rabbi Judy Shanks

Talking about God, spirituality, and prayer with children can make many parents uncomfortable. Finding the right words and how to express them are important Jewish parenting skills. Join Rabbi Shanks as we seek to develop a conversational comfort level on these subjects and become more aware of resources available to help us talk about God, spirituality, and prayer with our children.
Resilience of the Soul: Developing Emotional and Spiritual Resilience in Adolescents with Rabbi Alissa Forrest

During these three sessions we will be looking at how to enhance our teens’ resilience (and not only theirs, but that of their entire family!) as they deal with the trials of adolescence. Through Jewish texts and discussions we will explore the pressures as well as the potential blessings that are part of this period of life and learn how to give our teens the skills they need to build emotional and spiritual resilience. This 3-session class will be geared towards parents with children in 6th grade and up.
Sacred Obligations: Discovering Meaning in the Mitzvot (Commandments) with Rabbi Nicki Greninger

Join Rabbi Greninger as we learn about the mitzvot (commandments) and the role they play in Jewish life, especially from the perspective of Reform Judaism. We will consider the meaning of the term “mitzvah” and reflect on the mitzvah choices we have made and continue to make, including the influence of our observance on ourselves and our children.
