We invite you to join us for a weekend honoring Rabbi Roberto D. Graetz and Rabbi Judy Shanks for their 36 (double chai) combined years leading, teaching and guiding our community. This site was set up as a special supplement to the weekend activities. Here, you’ll be able to get more details about events and view photos afterward. Shabbat Service: Friday, April 23, 7:30 p.m.
Celebrate with us at a joyous Shabbat Service in honor of our Rabbis. Special guest speaker Rabbi Sally Priesand, first woman ordained as a Rabbi, and classmate and friend of our honorees, will speak at the service. Read more about Rabbi Priesand’s pioneering career. A special Oneg hosted by Women of Isaiah will follow. RSVPs not required.
Gala Dinner & Dance: Saturday, April 24, 6:30 p.m.
Continue the celebration with dinner, dancing, a live & silent auction, and a Las Vegas-style casino. No host cocktails begin at 6:30. Dinner begins at 7:30. You will receive a formal invitation by mail in mid-February. Cost is $100 if received before February 15th. $125 after February 15th. Mail checks, made payable to Temple Isaiah, to Attn: Double Chai Celebration, 3800 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549.
Proceeds benefit Temple Isaiah. Casino proceeds benefit Gan Ilan Preschool and Early Childhood Education programs at Temple Isaiah.
