Committees & Task Forces
Temple Isaiah’s committees lead the Temple’s activities and efforts in everything from social action to the Temple grounds, from education to religious practices, from personnel and leadership development to Isaiah’s relationship with the land of Israel. Read below for an overview of all of Temple Isaiah’s committees and the current committee chairs and co-chairs.
Adult Education
Work with our clergy and staff to develop and execute our adult education programs and annual scholar lectures. Chair: Pat Reyes
Angel Network
The Angel Network shall provide assistance to members of the congregation at time of need due to death, illness or other misfortune. Chair: Jan Trzesniewski
Budget
The Budget Committee shall present a proposed annual operating and capital budget to the Board of Directors for its approval prior to the May General Membership meeting. It shall monitor budgetary expenditures throughout the year and provide reports at least quarterly to the Board of Directors. Chair: Tracy Ucuzoglu
Chavurah
The Chavurah Committee shall place applicants in Chavurot and shall develop resources for use by Chavurot. Chair: Karen Goldberg
Congregation-Based Community Organizing
The CBCO team develops and supports the Community Organizing effort at Temple Isaiah, designed to strengthen relationships by determining shared values and interests. Where appropriate and necessary it will be used to bring about meaningful change. Volunteers are trained on Community Conversation and one-on-one facilitation and will determine the direction and logistics of the effort. Chairs: Casey Sasner and Jasmine Tarkoff.
Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education Committee shall work with the Director to develop and support the Gan Ilan Preschool and other early childhood education programming. Chairs: Joanne Peterson and Christina Wornick
Endowment
The Endowment Fund Board shall administer endowment gifts which will be used to enhance the ability of the Temple to enrich the quality of Jewish life in our community. The chair of the Endowment Fund Board shall be a voting ex-officio member of the Temple Board of Directors. Chairs: Emily Blanck and Michael Bandler
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall support The President in developing the Temple vision; assist the Board in establishing policy; work with staff to facilitate policy; work with volunteer committees and monitor results. Committee will assist The President in setting Board meeting Agendas and approving minor administrative actions by Executive Director.

Education
The Education Committee shall support the Rabbis, Cantor and Education Director in the development and execution of the Education programs including preparation of the annual education budget. Meetings of the Education Committee shall be announced to the membership and shall be open meetings. Chairs: Dan Myers and Adnia Zinn
Facilities & Buildings and Grounds
The Budget Committee shall present a proposed annual operating and capital budget to the Board of Directors for its approval prior to the May General Membership meeting. It shall monitor budgetary expenditures throughout the year and provide reports at least quarterly to the Board of Directors. Chair: Peggie Winston
Finance
The Finance Committee shall be responsible for collection of all outstanding financial obligations to the Temple; approving dues commitments with the goal of ensuring equity in such commitments; auditing the books at the end of the fiscal year; and such other related activities as the President may assign. Chairs: Michael Brent and Steve Lipson
Israel & World Jewry
The Israel Committee shall develop and execute appropriate programs in support of the State of Israel and the Association of Reform Zionists of America (ARZA). Chairs: Herb & Marlene Thier and Kim Drucker
Leadership Development
The Leadership Development Committee shall develop and implement with the Rabbis, Cantor and staff, a course of instruction on Temple Isaiah leadership founded on Jewish principles. Chair: Sandy Anderson
Library
The Library Committee shall maintain the Temple library and develop its resources in order to support the ongoing pursuit of Jewish learning for all members of our community and the surrounding Jewish community in a welcoming atmosphere with a broad range of Judaic books, media and educational materials. Chair: Yolanda Selwitz
Membership
The Membership Committee shall solicit the membership of all eligible persons, shall welcome new potential members to the community, and shall be responsible for membership retention. Chairs: Stephanie Snyder, Dave Bressler
Social Action
The mission of the Social Action Committee is to advocate worthy causes, spearhead the action of Temple Isaiah toward ongoing work to repair the world and facilitate our membership’s participation in community service. Chairs: Amy Faltz and Elise Trumbull
Ways and Means
The Ways and Means Committee shall develop and carry out a program of fundraising. Chairs: Melinna Gershik, Susanna Maron, Sherry Rowen
Youth
The Youth Committee shall develop and execute appropriate programs for the cultural and social enrichment of the youth of Temple Isaiah. Chair: Jeff Mann
